Time to recharge.

Hello and welcome to the latest issue of our weekly newsletter (see previous ones here).

We are midway through the summer holidays! Hopefully you have had time to recharge your batteries. If you are looking for inspiration for the weeks ahead, Kinfo will help you. With 20 categories on the app, we offer you the chance to check what other families like to read, eat, watch, create or play with. Because we parents know 🙂

This week we have chosen to share a small selection of top "liked" recommendations on Kinfo. If you would like to see more just open the app.

Isabelle & the Kinfo Team

Books Off With Their Heads!

Martin Oliver (8+)

This is a book about the history of Britain in bite-sized chunks that are easy to digest. Packed with humorous cartoons and brilliant facts. "Get to grips with the bloodiest battles," says the mum of 2 who recommends it on Kinfo.

Movies Sing

Movie (7+)

"As good as parents at school have been saying," said the mum who shared it. It is a lovely story from the producers of Despicable Me that promotes trying hard, being brave and following your dreams. But it also includes mixed messages about lying. (Just saying).

Outdoors Camp Wilderness

Camps (6-15)

Perhaps the perfect lifestyle antidote for our otherwise urban kids, Camp Wilderness offers 2/3/5-day weeks in safari-style tented woodland camps. "My children loved everything about the camp," said this mum. Oh, and they are running their bi-annual nature trail at Penshurst Place over the August Bank Holiday. More information here

Events Big Fish Little Fish

Family Rave (0+)

"Top DJs, craft and play for the kids and loads of bubbles and giant ballons. Plus bar!" said this mum of 2 about the family parties that hit London and other cities in the UK. Checkhere for their next dates.

Food Meringues Recipe

(Gluten-free, too)

Shared by this mum of 3 because her kids love them so much. You can't go wrong with this recipe; it makes perfect ones... when you know this little secret.

Movies (another one) La La Land

Movie (11+)

Perhaps too heavy for the youngest children, this is beautiful, jazz-rich movie that parents and the oldest of their brood fall in love with.

Services Osper

Credit Card (8+)

Osper cards are prepaid debit cards. One dad says his kids enjoy going to a shop with their saved credit. You order a printed card, activate it in the Osper App, load it with money (your details aren’t stored) then your kids may use them in millions of shops worldwide. It costs £2 per child per month, billed annually, but they are offering a free 30-day trial.

Birthday parties Pool Party

Entertainment (8+)

"Best ever party!" according to a 9-year-old and her friends. Her mum organised a party at the Kensington Leisure Centre with 24 kids (all swimmers) that entailed an hour in the shallow end of the pool and a function room. Contact a member of the staff here to organise your party and have a look at the Kinfo app for an important tip.

Indoors KidZania

Entertainment zone (2+)

If you haven't tried this yet you might want to book your family a ticket for a 2-hour slot and discover the magical world of a kid-sized city with all of the different careers they can trial. Best part: you watch them 'working' happily! Recommended by mums for ages 1-12 years.
