Hello everyone!

Can it really be that the Easter holidays start soon?
It'll be Christmas before we know it.

Tourist attractions know that throwing down a chocolate trail or offering a free bunny-making craft over Easter will appeal to kids. Parents welcome these eggstra distractions, too. See below for a few ideas.

Happy Mothering Sunday to all mums! Tell us how you celebrate. Is there a spectacular flower shop near you? A unique brunch? A film or book to snuggle up with on the sofa? Share your best family experiences on the app and other parents will thank you for it. Promise.

The Chocolate Museum

South London

Talking about chocolate... A chocolate truffle workshop in Brixton gets a big thumbs up by this mum of 2. Kids aged 8+ can be dropped off, younger ones must be accompanied. Lessons in making lollies and truffles using chocolate, ganache and fudge are followed by decorating and then scoffing the lot.

Museum of London

East London

Join the London Roman Wall or the Great Fire of London walks. Be seated for a tale of elephants. Meet Beasts of London (pictured). There is so much going on at this museum  that we echo the mum of 2's tip on the app, which says to check the website to keep fully up to speed.

Go Canoeing

East London

Time for a spot of exercise? A cool day out, affordable, too at just £7.50 per session. Guided lessons take place in safe waters, near to Lee Valley's long walks, next to a terraced cafe that sells reasonable Mother's Day Teas, from £4 p/p. Book one of two sittings, here.

Verulamium Museum

St Albans

"A great way to spend time at the weekend with family," says this mum of 2. Built on the site of one of the largest Roman cities in Britain, filled with ancient treasures and artefacts. Hands-on activities include a mosaic family workshop for one day only. Make your own coaster, Easter bunny or egg with a professional mosaicist.

RAF Museum

North London

Recommended by a dad of 2. If you haven't heard, this year marks the RAF's 100th anniversary. To mark the occasion the museum built new galleries to add to their comprehensive, award-winning exhibitions in the Historic Hangars and Bomber Command Hall. All of which comes with Easter bells on top – junior hunters are invited to follow an animal trail to win prizes. Info here.

Tower of London

Central London

A UNESCO World Heritage site, one of only 911 worldwide. These walls are steeped in medieval history and could tell stories about executions, war-time damage and a royal zoo of polar bears, lions, kangaroos, ostriches and elephants (from back in the 13th century). Now they guard over £20 billion worth of jewels, including the Crown Jewels, pictured. Recommended by a mum of 3.

Bank of England Museum

City of London

When all of the above starts pulling at your purse strings, why not go and stare and bullions of gold bars at this east London museum recommended by a dad. Find out how the Bank of England makes and distributes money. Entry is free. (Oh the irony). The museum will be sprinkled in cocoa dust these holidays, by way of an Easter egg trail. See here.

Queen's Park Farmer's Market

West London

Garlic dumplings, organic veg, biodynamic eggs... the school playground bustles with life every Sunday (10am-2pm). A favourite among locals, especially for stocking up on picnic treats in warmer weather, says this mum. Have a Mothering Sunday meander and choose what to have for lunch. The rest of the family can cook for you, oui?

St Ermin's Hotel Afternoon Tea

Central London

This cute Mini Gardener's tea for kids is "a fun experience with garden-themed food and a herb garden growing kit to take away," says a new mum. Adults must buy an adult tea to qualify and yes, they are offering Mother's Day spreads this weekend, here.

Fisher's Farm Park

West Sussex

Fun on the farm featuring fluffy (live) animals, an Easter Bunny with Blossom the Spring Queen and magic shows in the barn. Recommended by a mum who says there are "plenty of attractions including tractor rides, adventure golf, swing boats..." Note, tickets are £5 for mums on Mother's Day. Bargain!
