A weekly newsletter about
stuff that kids love
Food for thought
A family that eats together, stays together.
Food and families. If two things were more intricately entwined, we'd like to know about it. Devising a 5-a-day, nutritious balance for the little ones is a daily challenge. How nice it is then, to eat out together.
Let these selections from Kinfo app inspire you.
They are mostly London-based, but feel free to add your own favourites!
We have a second podcast on children and meditation, see below.
“The manager always comes to the table to discuss allergies and they prepare food accordingly," enthuses a mum of 2. Taking the kids here at least once is a must. Jungle creatures greet you into a beautifully designed, tropical restaurant that serves American style food with international flavours.
Book a timed visit in advance and drop by or book either the restaurant, bar or brasserie in this botanical "garden in the sky". Kids will love the glass dome, 360-degree views in the heart of the city as much as you.
“Family friendly and gluten free," says this parent. All roads lead to Bayswater for one of the best cod 'n' chips in town. Try yours fried in gluten-free batter, or go for the healthier grilled option. Call in your order and collect in 15 minutes. Or eat in. Open Mon-Sun, 12midday-11pm. Can we go now?
Tom Dixon's swanky restaurant dishes up seasonal produce with a riverside view. Kids eat free between 12noon-4pm at weekends, menu here. This tipper who went with friends will be going back for a smart family occasion. Read her full review on the app.
Burger & chips (and much more besides) diners can be found in north, south, east and west London. Oh and central. Striking venues for an economical family occasion, better than fast food joints... the food is good for the price and the waiting staff and atmosphere are the cherry on top. "Wonderful," writes a mum.
"Lovely, friendly pub," says this parent on the Kinfo app. A huge beer garden in leafy suburbia (just a hop away by train) offers the kind of menu you expect to find beachside in Devon or Cornwall.
We have another new Kinfo podcast!
Our podcasts focus on topics that matter to families. These are on children and mediation.
Does it work? How can you get started?
Find out in the two discussions between Kinfo founder, Isabelle Delmas and full-time meditation teacher, Jillian Lavender.
